Daily Update 7/11/2012

Things are back on track and I have done away with the pessimism, at least for now. I really hate being in a plateau, and it really plays game with your emotions and mental state.

I have come to to conclusion that while the “chat 1 day a week” idea may work for some people, it most definiutely does not with me. If I go off my plan even one day, that leads to 2-3 days where I think to myself “I’ll make up for it” and never do.  Or, the next day I decide not to get up and walk, which then leads to “I’ll go out for dinner” and the snowball effect continues.

The couple of days I did not get up early to walk were extremely difficult to get through the day without snacking or eating out, plus I bought bad things at the vending machine which I haven’t done in months, and also had soda from the free fountain at work.  All of these combined had me questioning whether or not this lifestyle of watching what I eat and exercising was worth it.

It is.

So, here’s to a renewed optimism and dedication to getting to the goal weight – now some 35 lbs away.  I hope you continue to check on my progress and post your own.

Its been a difficult few days.  Ups and downs, would love to see things below 220 be STEADY.  Just have to push a little bit more.

Daily Update 6/21/2012

Yesterday and today felt like good days, so I’m happy to see the numbers dip below 220 for the first time. I’m going to reserve saying it’s permanently under 220 until I can get to 215 or lower, as things tend to fluctuate when you move past a plateau.

I’m hoping to start the videos back up on Monday, as well as maybe a bit more detailed posts here on the blog.  The latest plateau was a real toughie, but you just have to keep pushing on.  Many thanks to Ryan Matthew Pierson for his continued support.  Ryan is also striving to live healthier and is having some great results – almost 8 lbs lost!

Daily Update 6/20/2012

I decided to sleep in an extra 2 hours rather than go walking this morning, so I had to put in some extra steps after work.  Videos will be back next week.  It’s really frustrating to be on this plateau for the past 2-3 weeks, but I have a feeling it will break soon.  It’s a lot easier to stay motivated when you see the scale moving.   Here’s hoping the rest of this week is a good one and I can get back on track!

Didn’t have time for a video again tonight, I will get back to it, promise!  Have a low step count since I left the FitBit at home today.  I need to get back into the swing of things and fast!

Daily Update 6/11/2012

Hey everybody –  It’s been a few days.  I have been in one of my “plateau” phases, hovering at 222-225 for the past week.  Coupled with a trip across the state where I ate at Village Inn and Perkins 3 times in 2 days, it’s hard to get back into the swing of things.  Plus, my home office is currently being reorganized so the lights, tripods and camera have been moved for the time being.

But that doesn’t mean I can’t do a regular update – so here it is:

I fell down on the step count today, and didn’t do very good over the weekend, either since I was traveling.  But I did go swimming for 2 hours, so hopefully that makes up for some of the missed steps.

I need to get back into the 10,000+ mode tomorrow – Im tired of this plateau and need to break free.
