This week was kind of a downer. I was riding a plateau, and also seeing daily gains putting me sometimes up to 239, and sometimes up to 240 again. I think the key thing during this week was I didn’t make any attempt to increase exercise, and due to the weather I hardly exercised or walked at all, including riding my bicycle.
Saturday I participated in FitBit Personal Record Day, and managed to get over 20,000 steps (a ltitle over 10 miles). While it felt great, my right foot is feeling some pain. Ow. so if I get out today at all, it will probably be on the bike rather than walking.
Also yesterday, I did an experimental one day fast where I didn’t eat breakfast or lunch. I celebrated the FitBit day and the fast with a nice steak last night, so it wasn’t a complete day fast. I have read conflicting reports on fasting, but most researches are now saying the old “don’t eat too little or your body will go into starvation mode” is false, it would take many days or weeks for your body to feel adverse effects from fasting.
The result? It’s not much but this morning read 236.4, which is down from 239 yesterday, and the lowest yet. I’m hoping I can jumpstart the weight loss again, as not seeing any progress a whole week is not very motivating. However, I have remained on track with no soda since I started, and I defeated the craving for a Papa Johns pizza.
Let’s hope for a good week.
